Installing RabbitMQ

RabbitMQ is a message broker that enables applications to communicate with each other and exchange information. It implements AMQP messaging protocol. RabbitMQ is an open-source project that is written by using Erlang programming language.

As of this writing, RabbitMQ does not recommend installing RabbitMQ on Ubuntu v22.

Installation

sudo add-apt-repository -y ppa:rabbitmq/rabbitmq-erlang
wget -qO - https://packagecloud.io/install/repositories/rabbitmq/rabbitmq-server/script.deb.sh | sudo bash
sudo apt install -y rabbitmq-server
sudo rabbitmq-diagnostics server_version

Start RabbitMQ on boot

sudo systemctl enable rabbitmq-server

Turn on the web interface

sudo rabbitmq-plugins enable rabbitmq_management

Create a RabbitMQ user

sudo rabbitmqctl add_user admin pwd123
sudo rabbitmqctl set_user_tags admin administrator
sudo rabbitmqctl set_permissions -p / admin ".*" ".*" ".*"
